RAPID RESPONSE

PHILIPS – Proactive

To prove that every second counts when someone is suffering from a cardiac arrest, Philips could partner with Uber to help get a Philips HeartStart defibrillator to someone in need, quicker.

In Australia, an ambulance takes an average of ten minutes to reach a patient, where as an Uber takes under four minutes to reach someone.

Philips will loan HeartStart defibrillators to Uber drivers and train them to use the machines. If there is an emergency, they can deliver the defibrillator to the scene and administer the first aid treatment if the ambulance has not yet arrived.

Using Uber drivers shows the public that the machines are so easy to use, that anyone can operate one.

This idea not only spreads the importance of owning a HeartStart defibrillator but could actually save lives too.
